Tipu Sultan

Tipu Sultan was born in Sarangapattam. He was born in year 1749. His full name was Fatah Ali Tipu. His father’s name was Haider Ali.

Tipu was a fearless boy who loved lions and tigers. He was trained in fencing, sword fighting and use of firearms. He grew up to be a brave and far-sighted man.

Those days, India was a very rich country. People from all over the world came here to buy and sell goods. The British wanted to capture the whole trade and make the people of India their slaves. Tipu was aware of the evil plans of the British. The British were sure that as long as Tipu Sultan was alive, they could not be masters of the subcontinent. When Tipu became the sultan, there were many people in his court who were plotting with the enemy against him. The two biggest traitors, Purnia the military commander and Mir Sadiq the prime minister, helped the British forces to enter the capital city of Sarangapattam. The Sultan now realized that he could not save his country any more. The wounded soldier fired a bullet into the Sultan’s head. The Tiger King breathed his last.

Tipu Sultan proved true to his words,

“A day’s life of a tiger is better than hundred years of a jackal.”

THE PROUD PEACOCK

Once upon a time there was a beautiful peacock in the wood. He was very proud of his body. One day a duck came to him and asked, “Can you play with me?” “No, my body will get dirty.” said the peacock. The duck went sadly. The next day a rabbit came and asked for a feather from the peacock. The peacock rejected to give the feather. Rabbit went sadly too.

Some days later, the peacock noticed that no one was interacting with him. He began to think and realized that he had been proud of his beauty and acted badly with others.

He called all the animals for a lunch at his home. He apologized and promised them to behave well. Once again all animals became friends and started living happily.

Moral: We should never be proud of anything and always be thankful of whatever we have.

(Muhammad Hasan, III C)
THE GREEDY LION

It was a very hot day. A hungry lion came out of his den and started searching for food here and there. He saw a little squirrel collecting nuts beside the tree. He caught it with a little hesitation because he thought this will not fill his stomach as he was very hungry.

The lion was about to kill the squirrel but he saw a deer running from that way. He felt greedy and left the squirrel and ran after the deer. The deer disappeared in the long bushes.

The lion got gloomy and thought why he had left the squirrel.

Moral:A bird in hand is better than two in bush.

MY FIRST VISIT TO SCHOOL AFTER LOCKDOWN

My first day at school after lockdown was the day I had been waiting for months. I was very excited to go to school. It was different from the first day I have imagined due to pandemic. When I reached the school, teachers welcomed us and according to SOPs, checked our temperature and gave us sanitizer. No one was allowed to enter without mask. I was very happy to see my friends after so long. We maintained social distance while sitting in our classes. We did many activities and talked with our friends. We explored our school with our teachers.

(Aaishah Siddiqah, III B)

The first day in the classroom was emotional for both students and teachers. Wearing mask is mandatory for all. Everyone was careful and maintained social distance. Instead of gathering in play area for the assembly, we were sent to our classrooms. Our desks were separated and hand shaking was not allowed. The lunch break was conducted in classrooms and sharing of food was not allowed. Everyone was chit chatting about how they spent their lockdowns and what new thing they learnt during the lockdown. In the off time, everyone stood far from each other. It was a great day.

A COBBLER

One day when I was walking on the road, I saw an old cobbler. His name was Ali. His eyes were grey and his hair was brown. His clothes were tattered from different places. He was mending and polishing shoes. His shop was very small. He was famous for his honesty. He was a god-fearing person. He prayed five times a day and also fast during the month of Ramadan.

He lived in a small cottage near his shop with his family. Although he was poor but he always try to help needy as much as he can.

He was hardworking, generous, kind, polite and humble. He became rich with the blessing of Allah SWT soon after he helped a young boy by keeping him at work in his shop.

A VISIT TO PARK

Last Sunday, the weather was cloudy. My father decided to take us to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park. I was very happy because we were going by bus.

When we reached the park, my father bought tickets for the whole family. We entered the park. The lush green grass was making us feel fresh. We saw different animals in the park. Then we moved to the swings area. My father bought tickets for swings. We enjoyed playing on different swings. Then we moved to the lake. Many people were enjoying boating there. Playful boys were boating with their friends and were having fun. We bought tickets and get in two boats. After that we were very tired so we took our lunch and decided to come back home.

Arrogance

This story starts from the day when Ms. Maria announced that a surprise paper is going to begin today. She was now in class V, distributing everyone a big sheet. “It will contain 10 marks from your test paper”, announced Ms. Maria again. Sana hurriedly did the paper as she had already prepared for the surprise test if it would come. The rest of the class did the paper slowly but on time.

After two days. Ms. Maria came into the class and announced that “Sana did the best surprise paper of English in the whole class. Amna needs to practice more as she did the most mistakes.” That announcement made Sana proud of herself and that was the reason that she did not prepare for the final test. Meanwhile, Amna learnt a lesson from her mistakes and worked much harder than before.

On the day of the exam, Amna did it all correctly while Sana was confused. The principal announced the result that Amna got the first position, her friends Kulsoom and Fatima got the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. When Sana saw her result, tears fell down her eyes as she was failed and was not promoted for the next class.

Moral:The mistake which makes you humble is better than the success which makes you arrogant.

A Memorable Dinner

Once upon a time, my father invited my uncle’s family to a dinner. We all cleaned our home and dressed up nicely. When they came at night, we served them the dinner. We set on the chairs. My cousin was sitting next to me. Suddenly he spilled his cold drink on my favourite frock. My younger brother was laughing at me and he was teasing me. I was very angry. The stain was very intense. I locked up my room’s door and cried a lot.

After some time, I finally opened my door and came out. My uncle scolded my cousin My mother said, “Don’t worry my child, I’ll wash your frock.” I said, “Ok mom!”

Even after washing it, the stain did not leave it. My mom gave it to a laundry. When it came back, it was shining brightly. I got very happy, so I delightfully hugged my mom.

A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED

Once Laiba, Aimon, Marium and me planned to go to a trip that was “Kashmir trip.” We were so excited and nervous at the same time. We all were packing our belongings. The day has been come and we went to the railway station.

At last after two days, we went to Kashmir. We were so shocked that how it has so much beauty in it. Greenery and snow were here and there around lush green tall trees. Our hotel was surrounded by valleys and a lake was flowing by the side of hotel. We were so tired so we went to our room for rest.

Next day, we went for some enjoyment to the forest when in the way, I slipped and got hurt. I got a very big bruise on my head and knee so much so that I could not walk anymore. Two of my friends Laiba and Aimon left me alone but Marium was with me. She took me to home slowly. When I reached the home, both of them came to me with first aid but I realise that Marium is my best friend because “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”

A MEMORABLE DAY

Once upon a time, there was a boy whose name was Abdullah. He was going for a picnic with his family. Abdullah had four family members; his father, his mother, his elder sister ‘Amna’ and his younger brother ‘Ali’.

They were going to sea view the next day. They were busy in doing the preparations for the picnic. His mother was cooking some snacks. His father was checking the oil of car. Amna was choosing her cloth to be worn on the picnic. Abdullah was packing his swimsuit and life jacket while Ali was packing his toys. They all were very excited so they slept early.

In the morning, the parents woke up early. All the children started to get ready. They left their home at 9:00 a.m. When they reached there, it was 10:00 a.m.

After reaching there, they did their breakfast together and went into water. Abdullah and Amna played a lot but their mother could not allow Ali to go into water. As a result, Ali got angry. He went into the water silently and got lost. Later, their mother realised that Ali was not sitting behind her so she got worried and told her husband. The parents called Abdullah and Amna and they all started to find Ali together.

After some time, Ali’s father found him playing in water. He finally allowed Ali to play in water with Amna and Abdullah. Ali excitedly played with his siblings in the water. The whole family enjoyed very much. They ate some evening snacks and left the sea view. They all still remember that wonderful day.

HOLIDAYS

Asif, Waqar, and Asfar got an assignment on collecting photos of Allah SWT’s creatures for vacations. When Asif reached home, he told his sister about the project but she replied “Sorry Asif, you have to do it on your own.” Asif asked “Why Aapi?” She replied “I can’t help you because I’m going to jungle camp.” Asim asked, “Are students allowed to take their siblings with them?” Her sister replied, “Yes! But the siblings should be ten years old.”

Asif quickly rushed towards his mother and asked his age. Luckily, he was going to be eleven next month. He asked his parents if he could go with his aapi. After taking permission from his parents, he called his friends to come with him. They all packed their necessities in a bag and got ready for the trip. Asif took some chips and biscuits for the journey to enjoy with his aapi and friends. They travelled the jungle camp via bus.

After hours of travelling, they reached their destination. They set up their tents and had dinner. Everyone was excited for tomorrow. Next morning, they all heard loud noises of whistle made by their instructor. They all hurriedly woke up and had breakfast. They wore their tracksuits and got out from their tents. They learnt so many tricks and techniques to protect themselves from wild animals. They all got important instructions from their instructor and started roaming here and there. They witnessed a number of fascinating candid views and took a lot of pictures. They collected the pictures of sunset, wild animals, trees and beautiful landscapes.

All photos were utterly amazing. After returning from the tent, they showed their collection to their teacher. The teacher got very happy to see their collection and gave them the first prize.
